NYC AUDITION INFORMATION FOR THE 2026 SEASON

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Sharon Playhouse is a 340 seat, Equity SPT-6 Theater, approximately 95 miles from NYC. The Playhouse also includes the Bok Gallery, used for rehearsals, classes and performances, as well as The Patio & Bar where our audiences gather. The Playhouse is equipped with professionally equipped scenic and costume shops, as well as offices for production planning.

Every year the Sharon Playhouse hires a company of performers, made up of both Equity and non-Equity, local and non-local professionals.

2026 SEASON AUDITIONS

The Sharon Playhouse will cast the 2026 season from in-person auditions to be held both in Sharon CT and in New York City as outlined on this page. Virtual or taped auditions will be accepted and viewed when made by request ONLY.

EPAs: for Principal Roles for the 2026 Season
Location: Ripley-Grier Studios (520 8th Ave, 17th Floor)

  • DAY 1: Tuesday, January 27 - 10:00am to 6:00pm (Break 1:30pm to 2:30pm)

  • DAY 2: Wednesday, January 28  - 10:00am to 6:00pm (Break 1:30pm to 2:30pm)

ECCs: for Ensemble Roles for 42ND STREET
Location: Ripley-Grier Studios (520 8th Ave, 16th/17th Floor)

  • DAY 1: Tuesday February 3 (Dancers - Women in AM / Men in PM) 

  • DAY 2: Wednesday, February 4 (Singers - Women in AM / Men in PM)

NOTE: The Sharon Playhouse will see non-union candidates at these auditions time-permitting and following AEA regulations.

NOTE: Equity and Non-Equity candidates with guaranteed commutable housing and transportation may attend our LOCAL AUDITIONS.

EQUITY & NON-EQUITY ACTORS

Auditions by Appointment will be held from March 16 - 20, 2026 in New York City

Equity and Non-Equity candidates may apply for appointments via agent and self-submission following the release of casting breakdowns on Breakdown Services and Actors Access. 

Appointments are not guaranteed and will be given at the discretion of Judy Bowman Casting, CSA, the official Casting Office of the Sharon Playhouse.

GENERAL REHEARSAL DETAILS

If you are cast, please note that rehearsals for each production will run 6 days per week with Mondays off.  Exact rehearsal times are TBD, but an overall availability during the rehearsal period from 10AM to 6PM is expected and required.
