Charles Busch Stars in his Holy Outrageous Comedy!
FRIDAY, AUGUST 28
ONE NIGHT ONLY
A SPECIAL EVENT STAGED READING PERFORMANCE IN SUPPORT OF THE SHARON PLAYHOUSE
STAY TUNED FOR TICKETING INFORMATION!
PERFORMED ON THE OLSEN MAINSTAGE
Following his previous Sharon Playhouse appearances in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife and Die, Mommie, Die!, the legendary Charles Busch returns for another one-night-only staged reading!
The Divine Sister is a wildly witty homage to every Hollywood film about nuns — from “The Song of Bernadette” and “The Bells of St. Mary’s” to “The Singing Nun” and “The Sound of Music” — this show promises outrageous laughs and pure theatrical bliss!
The story follows St. Veronica’s indomitable Mother Superior, played by the incomparable Busch (Die Mommie Die, Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom), leads us on a madcap trip through Tinseltown’s most gloriously over-the-top religiosity. It’s miraculous. It’s zany. It’s one night only!
Written by & Starring Charles Busch
Directed by Carl Andress

The Divine Sister made its New York debut with a developmental run at Theater for the New City in early 2010 before moving to Off-Broadway at the Soho Playhouse, where it opened September 22, 2010.
Written by Charles Busch and directed by Carl Andress, the show starred Busch as the indomitable Mother Superior alongside a lively ensemble, including Julie Halston, Alison Fraser, Jennifer Van Dyck, Jonathan Walker, and Amy Rutberg.
Cue the Hallelujah chorus!… a gleefully twisted tale… Mr. Busch’s freshest, funniest work in years.” — Ben Brantley, The New York Times
