Seeking local actors, singers, and movers between the ages of 12 and 18 for the Sharon Playhouse Holiday YouthStage Production of Alice in Wonderland, playing December 11-20, 2026

Round 1 and Round 2 Auditions: Monday, September 7, 2026 (Labor Day)

This is a production that will feature local youth (ages 12-18).  In order to audition, individuals must turn 12 years old by September 7, 2026. These are volunteer positions and there is no fee to participate.

It is likely that not all actors who audition will be cast.

Round 1: Monday, September 7, 2026, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Those auditioning will be assigned a 4-minute time slot between 1pm and 4pm.   During the 4-minute time slot, actors will perform a scene and sing a short song.

See below for the audition materials that actors should prepare.

Round 2: Monday, September 7, 2026, 4:30 - 6:00 PM

All individuals auditioning will be called during this time.  This block of time will consist of a group ensemble audition, including playful sessions of movement and script work.  There is nothing that actors need to prepare for this portion of the audition.

Round 3: Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM

A final callback will be held on Tuesday, September 8 from 5-7pm. Not all auditioners will be needed at these callbacks. Auditioners will be notified in the evening on Monday, September 7 as to whether they are needed at final callbacks on September 8.

General Rehearsal Details:

General rehearsals will take place between Monday, September 14 and Saturday, December 5. See below for Tech Rehearsal dates. General rehearsals will take place a few weekday evenings and one or two weekend days, per week. A conflict sheet will be submitted at auditions so that a master schedule can be crafted. Actors will not be called for all dates/times listed on the conflict sheet. We understand youth have other commitments, so there is some flexibility. Youth availability will be collected to create a rehearsal schedule that serves the entire company.

A Note About the Commitment from September-December

Auditions are happening this early in the school year so that students and families have the opportunity to prioritize this experience if they would like to. Those cast in the show will be asked to make themselves available for rehearsals in September, October, and November to the best of their ability, and to stick to their submitted conflict sheet at the time of auditions. From Sunday, December 5 to Sunday, December 20, cast members will be asked to prioritize this production of Alice in Wonderland ahead of extracurricular activities. Please only audition for Alice in Wonderland if you are willing and able to make this commitment.
