THE LAUNCHPAD COMPANY

Dedicated to Sharon Playhouse House Manager, supporter, and friend, Mary Graf

The Launchpad Company, a pre-professional program is open exclusively to actors between the ages of 15-20. All participants must reside within a daily commutable distance to the Sharon Playhouse for the duration of rehearsals and performances.

The Sharon Playhouse is excited to announce that we are now in our second year of the Launchpad Company, our innovative pre-professional summer program for local performers ages 15-20. Following the incredible success of last year's production of Once Upon a Mattress, we are thrilled to reveal that our upcoming Launchpad Company production will be the Off-Broadway musical hit Zombie Prom, directed by Sam LaFrage, choreographed by Michelle Lemon, and music directed by Eric Thomas Johnson. This season’s Launchpad Company production of Zombie Prom will be presented in the Bobbie Olsen Theater, on site at the Sharon Playhouse.

The Launchpad Company honors the memory of Mary Graf, a cherished supporter of the arts who passed away in April, 2024. Her remarkable generosity and lifelong passion for theater have inspired us to create this pre-professional experience, ensuring her legacy continues to nurture and inspire the next generation of theater artists.

Designed to propel young performers into their artistic careers, the Launchpad Company serves as the capstone experience of the Sharon Playhouse's popular Summer YouthStage Program. This audition-based initiative features a tuition-free structure and provides participants with a $250 stipend, reflecting our commitment to fostering a professional atmosphere for young artists.

"The Launchpad Company allows us to respond to the needs of our local community while honoring Mary Graf's extraordinary legacy," said Michael Kevin Baldwin, Education and Community Director. "We recognize that interest in traditional summer theater camps often wanes for teens seeking more advanced opportunities. This program offers them the chance to grow as performers, collaborate at a professional level, and contribute to an exciting new chapter for the Playhouse."

The Launchpad Company exemplifies the transformative power of the arts, bringing people together and shaping lives. The Sharon Playhouse is proud to celebrate Mary Graf's passion for theater by creating a program that empowers young artists and enriches the community she cherished.
