- Inspired by the Classics: The show is a playful homage to the classic teenage films of the 1950s, combining elements of "Grease" with the campy charm of B-rated horror movies.
- Film Adaptation: In 2006, "Zombie Prom" was adapted into a film starring RuPaul as Delilah Strict. This successful adaptation garnered numerous awards, including Best Short Film at the Palm Beach International Film Festival. The film was directed by Vince Marcello.
