LOCAL AUDITION INFORMATION FOR THE 2026 SEASON

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Sharon Playhouse is a 340 seat, Equity SPT-6 Theater, approximately 95 miles from NYC. The Playhouse also includes the Bok Gallery, used for rehearsals, classes and performances, as well as The Patio & Bar where our audiences gather. The Playhouse is equipped with professionally equipped scenic and costume shops, as well as offices for production planning.

Every year, the Sharon Playhouse hires a company of performers, made up of both Equity and non-Equity, local and non-local professionals.

2026 SEASON AUDITIONS

The Sharon Playhouse will cast the 2026 season from in-person auditions to be held both in Sharon CT and in New York City as outlined on this page. 

Virtual or taped auditions will be accepted and viewed when made by request ONLY.


Judy Bowman of Judy Bowman Casting, CSA, is the official casting director for the Sharon Playhouse and will be present at all auditions.

LOCAL AEA EPA AUDITIONS - IN SHARON, CT

Sharon Playhouse Local AEA EPA Call in Sharon CT: 

The Sharon Playhouse will hold a local EPA call for AEA actors for roles in the Sharon Playhouse 2026 Season on

Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM at the Sharon Playhouse (49 Amenia Road, Sharon, CT 06069) in The Bok.

Non-Equity actors will be seen should time permit and should arrive by 2pm.

EPA Procedures are in effect for auditions. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. LOCAL OPEN CALL AUDITIONS - SHARON, CT

Local Open Call Auditions at the Sharon Playhouse are open to those who can provide their own housing and transportation for all rehearsals and performances. If you cannot provide proof of local housing, please do not attend this call.  Local AEA and non-union actors of all ethnicities and gender identities are welcome to audition at this call for roles that are available.

Auditions will take place at the Sharon Playhouse (49 Amenia Road, Sharon, CT 06069) in The Bok as follows, by appointment only.

Those auditioning must sign up for a 5-minute time slot. During the 5-minute time slot, auditioners are asked to prepare a brief cut of a classic musical theater song and/or a contemporary musical theater song and bring sheet music in your key. Please bring a picture/resume stapled together. 

During the 5-minute time slot, auditioners may be invited to attend the dance call on Saturday February 21. If the panel would like to see more, you will be notified via email with an invitation to attend Callbacks on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

WRITERS PLAYGROUND

Sharon Playhouse’s 6th annual edition of Writers Playground is seeking actors local to the Sharon CT area to participate in a week-long rehearsal and performance process, from September 1 - 4, 2026. Performers will receive a stipend. Auditions will be held via video submission only. To be considered, please record a one-minute contemporary monologue. You may also submit a second contrasting monologue if you wish.

If you are cast, please note that rehearsals for each production will run 6 days per week with Mondays off. Exact rehearsal times are TBD, but an overall availability during the rehearsal period from 10AM to 6PM is expected and required.
