In 2019, Governor Ned Lamont officially proclaimed June 28 as Sharon Playhouse Day in recognition of the theater’s decades-long impact in Northwest Connecticut. This year, we’re honoring that legacy with our first-ever 28-Hour Giving Day, filled with performances, community events, and opportunities to give back.

  • 9:30 PM – Open Mic Night on the Patio after Million Dollar Quartet performance

 Saturday, June 28, 2025

  • 10:00 AM & 11:30 AM – Sharon Playhouse Stars performances

  • 10:30 AM onwards – Crepe Royale Food truck available

  • 12:00 PM – Official Sharon Playhouse Day Dedication

  • 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM – Million Dollar Quartet performances

 
 

Established in 2019, Governor Ned Lamont officially named June 28th as Sharon Playhouse Day in the state of Connecticut. Proclaiming…

WHEREAS, the Sharon Playhouse in Sharon, Connecticut has strived to bring entertainment and enlightenment to the Northwest Corner region of the state for the past 60 years; and

WHEREAS, the mission of the theater, in addition to entertaining, is to be a beacon of education for the entire Litchfield community and beyond; and

WHEREAS, the significance of the Sharon Playhouse should not be forgotten, nor neglected in the history of theater in Connecticut; and

WHEREAS, the building and creation of the Sharon Playhouse is a testament to the vision of Judson Phillips to establish a permanent home for theater and the arts in the town of Sharon and its environs; now

THEREFORE, I, Ned Lamont, Governor of the State of Connecticut, do hereby proclaim Friday, June 28, 2019 as

SHARON PLAYHOUSE DAY in the State of Connecticut
