MAINSTAGE ENRICHMENTS

Go beyond the curtain and enrich your experience of The Sharon Playhouse's MainStage productions with our captivating Enrichments! These interactive programs and partnerships unlock hidden layers of the shows, sparking deeper engagement and understanding for our audiences.

  • Examples:

    • Oliver! and Project SAGE

      • The Sharon Playhouse partnered with Project SAGE to explore the themes of power and control in our MainStage production of Oliver! Project SAGE Staff members conducted workshops with the Oliver! cast and connected with the community at large in a post-show talkback, during which the Project SAGE staff members answered questions and engaged in conversation about relationship violence and human trafficking, both as they appear in the play and as they exist in our world today.

    • The Lifespan of a Fact and The Lakeville Journal and The Salisbury Forum

      • The Sharon Playhouse partnered with The Lakeville Journal and The Salisbury Forum to delve deeper into the core theme of The Lifespan of a Fact with the topic β€œTruth in Journalism.” Investigative journalist Brian Ross facilitated a discussion surrounding the importance of maintaining the truth in all news media platforms.  Panelists included editor of The Lakeville Journal, John Coston, and The Lifespan of a Fact playwrights Jeremy Kareken and David Murrell.

    • Our Town and Post-Show Talkbacks

      • The Sharon Playhouse welcomed multiple school groups to see its MainStage production of Our Town and hosted a complimentary post-show talkback with the director and cast.

    • A Raisin in the Sun and Post-Show Talkbacks

      • The Sharon Playhouse welcomed multiple school groups to see its MainStage production of A Raisin in the Sun and hosted a complimentary post-show talkback with the cast and director/DEI-Facilitator Spencer Scott Barros.

TESTIMONIALS

I loved seeing my students participate in the talkback with the cast and director!
— Carlene O'Connor, Teacher, Arlington High School

The play encouraged [my] students to reflect on their own lives and the people and places that make up their own communities.
— Elizabeth Houck, Teacher, Salisbury Central School

It was wonderful for our students to be able to see a live show in our hometown. Many of our students do not participate in these events with their families and for some this was their first experience seeing a live show.
— Teacher, Sharon Center School
